We are really excited to announce that our ‘For the 1’ podcast is now out! We released the trailer this week and the first episode is out on Monday 14thJune. So why did we decide to progress from having our monthly For the 1 blog to adding in a podcast. Here is what our founder Mel had to say: ‘For the 1 was a phrase that came to my mind one day a couple of years ago when I was thinking about the impact of the work that we do with our beneficiaries. We will be working with local artists to produce content that will be created into our 6 week programme. We will also have some free online content that you will be able to access on our website and social media. We will keep you posted on any developments, but we are hoping that we can launch it in September 2021. We heavily rely on funding and donations to carry on our important work, so we…

1. Tell us a bit about you and what your passions are. My name is Sona and I design and deliver various creative workshops for adults and children. I am passionate about using art and textiles to improve mental health. 2. What have been your moments of joy in lockdown?  I’ve been really lucky to have a forest at my doorstep so being able to take long walks through the forest has been so calming. 3. When did you realise that you wanted to be an artist?  Growing up I’ve been surrounded by creative women, my mum was always making something. She loved sewing clothes and embroidery and that’s where I developed a love for textiles. I knew I wanted to help people through creativity but didn’t know how until…
