FREEDOM 2 Travel Safely
A workshop that explores girls experiences of transport and public spaces.
The FREEDOM 2 Travel Safely project is a 3hr workshop that explores girls experiences of transport and public spaces.
We have previously run part of this project with award winning photographer, Fiona Freund to showcase the girls work through photography. We use creative methods to find out what the girls experiences are and to raise awareness about harassment and how to report.
We are currently looking for opportunities to extend this project, so please get in touch if you would like to join us in this mission.
FREEDOM 2 Travel Safely Exhibition and panel talk
We hosted our first FREEDOM 2 Travel Safely Exhibition and Panel talk at the BoTree Hotel in Marylebone in May 2024 to showcase the photography of our beneficiaries work.
FREEDOM 2 Travel Safely next steps are that we want teenage girls to:
Recognise what sexual harassment is
Understand that harassment is not acceptable behaviour and isn’t normal
Know how to respond to harassment and uncomfortable situations
Know how to report harassment
Educate their peers on harassment
Situational Awareness workshop
As part of FREEDOM 2 Travel Safely Project, we also offer a 3 hr Situational Awareness workshop with PRS training, recognising signs of harassment and self-defence techniques.
For more information or to book a workshop please go to our contact page.
Join us for our Half Marathon Walk fundraiser On November 30th
A group of FREEDOM 2 supporters will be walking half a marathon (13 miles!!) to raise money for our FREEDOM 2 Travel Safely project delivering creative workshops for girls to explore their experiences of travel and use their voices too campaign for change. We have already ran a pilot project in April 2024 to explore girls experiences of travel in London and we would like to extend this work further with your help! Would you like to join us on the walk?
Or maybe you would prefer to sponsor us instead?
“It is so important for every girl to have healthy self-esteem and that they are able to recognise their own worth and significance, so that they can reach their potential. So many factors can prevent this from happening, which leaves girls vulnerable and at risk.”
